Unstructured Alpha — portfolio exposure to economic forces
Unstructured Alpha measures which economic forces a portfolio is exposed to: interest rates, inflation expectations, the U.S. dollar, oil, credit spreads and economic growth. Enter holdings and it compares three years of weekly returns with weekly changes in each force, after accounting for the overall stock market, and reports the size of each exposure, a 90% range, the weeks of data behind it, and which holdings cause it. Data that is missing is named, never filled in. It describes the past rather than predicting returns, and the research record publishes the predictive tests that failed. Free, with no account needed for a first report.
